This needs some explanation. The dance studio decided that they wanted the kids to have an opportunity to do their final programs, but since the studio is so small, they had to do it outside. We had some concerns which ended up being well-founded - the families that showed up were not social distancing very well (and some weren't even wearing masks). The reason we know all of this is because the studio is right across the street. The good news is that since we could see them and hear the music, we got Eyvind dressed in her outfit and she did her final program on the porch.

What a beautiful dancer you are Eyvind! You did a lovely job with your final program! XOXOX Nonni and Nonno :)
ReplyDeleteThis issue with people asserting their "freedom" by not wearing the mask is baffling to me. Even if you think it is unnecessary how hard is it to defer to others who are concerned and wear the stupid mask! We are dealing with the same nonsense here as well. It must have been hard for Eyvind to not be able to interact with the other children across the street. :( Or did they go ahead and dance together there? I'm not sure I understand how it went down in the end. She looks so precious in her pretty ballerina outfit. Will she continue with lessons or has COVID killed that as well?
ReplyDeleteThree kids (out of a class of 10-15) showed up and did the program together outside the studio. She danced along on the porch. The only way she could continue right now would be to do private lessons, and those are cost prohibitive. She'll go back when there is a vaccine.
DeleteThat is so very sad... :(
