The little bit of the house

Eventually, we are hoping to live in this house.  The current plan is to close the sale in mid-March and move at the beginning of May.  The sisters who own the house have decided they want to rent it from us through April.  I didn't take a ton of pictures because it was their washing day and laundry was hanging in most other rooms.  The pictures might make a little more sense if you look at them backward.  I didn't use flash in any of the rooms, so you can see that it's a fairly bright place.

 Living room.

The living room facing toward the back of the house.  Dining room to the right, and the door straight ahead is a bedroom.  The door you can barely see in the dining room is to the upstairs/apartment entry.

Kitchen.  The sisters had stern voices when they talked about the people who painted over the wood doors and framing.

The fridge is pulled away from the wall by about 6 inches, so the kitchen is actually a bit wider than it seems.   Also, because they moved the stove to make room for the washer, they have set a board in front of the window.  It's actually the same size as the other window.

Kitchen looking into the hallway.  There is a door to the right leading into another bedroom.  The washer will need to be moved back down to the basement.

The hallway leading to the kitchen at the back of the house.  The basement door is the closed door on the left (you can see the doorknob).  The other door on the left is the bathroom.  The opening on the right is a bedroom.

This is the dining room/entry room.  The front door is behind Jesse, and there is another window to the left behind the sister with the red shirt on.  The opening behind Jesse is the living room.

  1. Yeah! Do they like the idea of kiddos being there?

    1. They were raised in the house, so I think they are happy a family will be in the house again. It's hard for them to be leaving, though.

  2. What a beautiful old place! I love it!! The natural light is wonderful. And it has so much character and warmth. Your Great Nana had a kitchen at the back of the house. With the door just like that...where does that lead?

    1. The door with the red curtain in the kitchen leads to a back porch/small deck area. I love this house, too. I really hope everything works out.
